Getting started
What is ContentVeo?
ContentVeo turns a long video, such as a podcast, interview, webinar or lesson, into short vertical clips. It finds self-contained moments in what is said, frames the speaker in 9:16, burns in captions, designs cover options and writes post copy. You review the clips and publish or schedule them to YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, LinkedIn and X.
Which videos work best?
Videos where people talk: podcasts, interviews, panels, webinars, lessons, talks and commentary. Clips are chosen from the transcript, so the video needs clear speech. ContentVeo currently works with English speech only.
How do I add a video?
Three ways, from the home screen of the app:
- Upload a file from your computer, up to 10 GB (MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM or AVI). Uploads resume if your connection drops.
- Upload from Google Drive: pick the file in Google’s own file picker. Nothing needs to be shared publicly.
- Paste a link: a Google Drive file link shared as “Anyone with the link”, or a direct https link to a video file ending in .mp4, .mov, .m4v, .webm or .mkv.
Can I paste a YouTube link?
No. YouTube links aren’t supported. Upload the original video file instead, or add it from Google Drive.
How long does processing take?
Usually 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the length of the video and how busy the queue is. You can close the page; the project shows “Ready” when the clips are done.
What do I get back?
For each clip: a vertical 1080 × 1920 MP4 with burned-in captions (or none, if you prefer), three cover options, a score that tells you where to look first, and a suggested title, caption and hashtags for each platform. You can edit all of the text, and on paid plans download the video file.
Is there a watermark?
Only on Free. Free clips carry a small “ContentVeo” mark in a top corner. Clips made on Creator, Pro and Business have no watermark.
Can I make square or landscape clips?
Not yet. Every clip is vertical 9:16, made for Shorts, TikTok and Reels.
Plans, minutes and limits
How are minutes counted?
By the length of the source video you submit, rounded up to the next whole minute, however many clips it produces. A 32-minute 18-second episode uses 33 minutes. The app shows how many minutes a video will use before you click Get clips. If a video fails to process, its minutes are returned automatically.
How many clips do I get per video?
It depends on the plan. Each plan also caps the length of a single clip and the total clip time per video:
- Free: up to 3 clips, each up to 90 seconds (5 minutes of clips in total).
- Creator: up to 10 clips, each up to 3 minutes (20 minutes in total).
- Pro: up to 15 clips, each up to 10 minutes (40 minutes in total).
- Business: up to 20 clips, each up to 10 minutes (60 minutes in total).
Choose a number yourself or leave it on Auto and the AI decides, within your plan.
How long can a single video be?
Up to 60 minutes on Free, 3 hours on Creator and 4 hours on Pro and Business. Files can be up to 10 GB.
Do unused minutes roll over?
No. Your allowance resets at the start of each billing period.
What happens when I run out of minutes?
The app tells you before you start a video that needs more minutes than you have left. You can upgrade, or wait for your allowance to reset at the start of the next period.
Do I need my own AI account or API keys?
No. Transcription, clip selection, framing, captions, covers and post copy are included in every plan.
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes: 60 minutes of video a month, no card needed. The AI makes the clips, captions and covers just as on paid plans. Free clips carry a small ContentVeo watermark, publish to one platform (post now, no scheduling), can’t be downloaded, and are kept for 3 days. Styled covers, branding and Auto Pilot are on paid plans. To keep it free for everyone, Free-plan processing has a shared daily capacity. On a very busy day a Free video may have to wait until the next day; paid plans are never affected.
Billing and cancelling
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes, any time, under Plan & billing in the app. Upgrades start straight away and you pay the prorated difference, shown before you confirm. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you have paid for; then your account moves to Free.
Do you offer refunds?
We don’t refund partial billing periods, because you keep full access until the period ends. If you were charged in error, for example twice, tell us within 14 days and we refund it in full. See the refund and cancellation policy.
How much do the plans cost?
Creator is $25, Pro $50 and Business $140 a month. Launch offer: new paid plans get 25% off the first 3 months, so Creator is $18.75, Pro $37.50 and Business $105 a month for 3 months, then the full price. Plans are billed monthly; there is no yearly plan. Prices are in US dollars; taxes may apply. See pricing.
What happens if a payment fails?
We retry the card and email you. You keep your plan for 7 days while you update your payment details; after that the account moves to Free until a payment goes through.
Google Drive
Do I have to make my Drive files public?
No. With Upload from Google Drive you choose the file in Google’s file picker and ContentVeo can open only that one file, never the rest of your Drive. Pasting a Drive link also works, but then the file must be shared as “Anyone with the link”.
What is Auto Pilot?
Auto Pilot watches a Google Drive folder. Share the folder with ContentVeo’s processing account as a Viewer, prove it is yours, and new videos you add are picked up within about 30 minutes and made into clips with your saved settings. Auto Pilot is included in Creator, Pro and Business; it is not available on Free.
Why does Auto Pilot ask me to prove the folder is mine?
So nobody who learns your folder link can import your videos into their account. The folder must be owned by your ContentVeo email address, or contain an empty file with a verification name the app gives you.
Publishing
Which platforms can I post to?
YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels (Creator or Business account), Facebook (a Page or creator profile), LinkedIn (your profile) and X. Paid plans publish to all six; Free publishes to one, the first platform you connect. You connect each one with the platform’s own sign-in; ContentVeo never sees your passwords. See integrations.
Will ContentVeo post anything without my approval?
No. Clips wait for your approval. If you want a hands-off pipeline you can switch on automatic approval in Settings, and switch it off again any time.
Can I schedule posts?
On paid plans, yes. Post now or pick a time, set a recurring posting schedule, and see everything on the calendar. On Free you publish now, to one platform.
Can I download the clips instead?
On paid plans, yes. Every clip is a normal MP4 file you can download, to post anywhere or edit further. On Free you can preview and publish clips, but not download them.
Privacy and security
How long do you keep my videos?
- Files you upload: deleted automatically within 3 days.
- Videos from a link: downloaded only to make the clips, not kept.
- Clips and covers: deleted after 3 days on Free, 15 days on Creator and Pro, and 30 days on Business, counted from when they are made, posted or not (a clip waiting for a scheduled post is kept until it goes out; posts can be scheduled up to 28 days after a clip is made).
- Projects in the trash: deleted for good after 7 days.
- Deleting your account removes everything immediately.
On paid plans, download any clip you want to keep. Details are on the security page.
Do you use my videos to train AI?
No. Your videos, audio and transcripts are not sold and are not used to train AI models. They are shared with our processing and AI providers only to make your clips. See the privacy policy.
Can I turn on two-factor sign-in?
Yes. Under Settings → Account you can add an authenticator app. Every new sign-in then asks for a code.
How do I delete my account or download my data?
In the app, under Settings → Account: Download my data exports your projects, clips, captions, schedule and settings, and Delete account cancels any subscription and deletes everything. You can also email us; see data deletion.
